Live Scan Requirements

All priests, deacons, employees and volunteers who have contact with children are required to pass a criminal background check done through fingerprints.  This check is done via Live Scan and run through the Department of Justice (DOJ) of the State of California. Please note: you are required to bring a valid picture identification with you ( i.e. a driver’s license, a California identification card or a passport)  when go to be fingerprinted,.  If you have questions about what will qualify as valid identification, please contact Julie Sparacio at 707.566.3308.

It is strongly recommended that all volunteers at our parishes and school complete a criminal background check through fingerprinting, regardless of whether their individual ministry requires them to have contact with children or not.  This is a recommendation and any decision about background checks on additional volunteers would be up to the discretion of the Pastor or Parochial Administrator.
